Way Out West 2026 — Three Days, 24 Artists, Two Generations

Slottsskogen has gone quiet again. I am just home from Göteborg with sore feet, full memory cards and that particular kind of tiredness that only comes after three days in the photo pit.

This was my sixteenth Way Out West.

But this year was different in one way that matters more than any of the others. My son Konrad was there with me for the first time, working the same pits I have worked for years, finding his own angle a metre away from mine. Watching that happen is not something I will forget. It will not be his last time.

Twenty-four artists stood in front of my camera over three days:

Thursday — David Ritschard · Yaeger · Arthur Verocai · Kasino · Clipse · Oklou · Zara Larsson · Anna von Hausswolff · Alessi Rose · The xx

Friday — Ravyn Lenae · Qendresa · Nu Genea · Geese · Blood Orange · The Hives · Lykke Li

Saturday — Raghd · Celeste · Ezra Collective · Wilco · Veronica Maggio · Terra · Svart Ridå

Four stages, three days, and the short walk between Flamingo and Linné with three minutes to spare — twice a day, every day.

Here are a few of the frames to begin with. More images will follow over the coming weeks, and a selected number will be released as signed fine art prints on Hahnemühle FineArt paper, in small numbered editions.

I have photographed this festival since its very first edition in 2007.
